THE DEALIO

"... no matter what time of day... you always have to treat it like it's the best time of the day. that's the only way to keep going. if you don't think you are going to get cold or thirsty, what do you have to fear? when it gets dark everyone wants to go inside, be warm, and eat, but if you say, 'fuck that... the thing that i love to do is rock climb, and i'm here and i'm doing it,' and this is the best time of your life, then you shouldn't care if it's dark. you just keep going."

the finger maester

over the past few years i've had one constant occurrence.

it seems that every time i start feeling strong (usually around fall) i end up wreaking havoc upon my beloved digits. this has led to countless hours of study of the finger and its functions, as well as me becoming an advocate of finger safety.

i would like you to draw your attention to a badass scottish climbing dude.

i guess it works as a poor man's e-stim machine. I have been using this treatment off and on for the past few years, and have found it to be very beneficial with swelling/tendon issues. In further discussion, he finds that this treatment works quite well with elbow injuries as well.

so my friends, our fingers are our best friends, and we must be nice to them!
i hope this video works, and i apologize if this treatment causes anyone to wet their pants...

  1. by the way, maester is not a typo."The maesters are a fictional order of scholars and healers/physicians in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. They are also scientists, advisors to the nobility, and occasionally pseudo-religious researchers in the occult." -wikipedia

of course, i haven't read these books... i found the word in the video game Final Fantasy X.

i'm sure you were all really curious about that word and how it pertains to this voodoo i speak of.
    you're welcome i guess.

  2. It's funny how informed you become AFTER an injury, eh? I'm in the same boat my man.
